GP Professional Development (CPD) Grant
Are you a GP working in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough looking to develop an area of special interest? CPTH has limited CPD funding available to support an area of study where your interests support the work of General Practice alongside furthering your career opportunities.
CPTH will provide you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills by providing a grant towards an approved programme of study.

EDUCATION
GP & ACP Monthly Education Programme
A series of monthly education evenings for GPs and ACPs, usually on a Tuesday, covering topics we get commonly requested from our local population of GPs and delivered by high quality local speakers and experts. These sessions are delivered live via zoom. Please email us at candptraininghub@nhs.net if you have any topics you’d like to suggest.
First 5 Monthly Education Sessions
In conjunction with the GP Fellowship we have developed a programme of First5-specific education sessions which take place monthly on a Thursday morning. These are delivered by expert speakers on a range of clinical topics aimed specifically at recently CCT’d GPs.
Safeguarding
An extensive section of resources to help you understand the guidance currently available for Safeguarding in Primary Care, with links to help you access the wide variety of learning available to support safeguarding children and adults, and meet level 3 learning outcomes.

GP Career Support Portal
The portal contains resources, guidance and support for GPs in England at varying stages of their career - from newly qualified GPs to those at the end of their career. The portal is accessible via the FutureNHS platform, please visit the website and sign up to access.
E-learning for Health (eLfH) Leadership Modules
eLfH have several leadership modules including: Leadership foundations; Leadership for clinicians; Clinical leadership (CLE); Medical leadership; Leading change, adding value; Management and leadership skills.

Kingsfund: System Leadership
Working beyond organisational boundaries on challenges of mutual concern that cannot be solved by any one person or institution. This calls for a collaborative approach across a variety of new boundaries.
Pathway to Partnership
An ILM accredited professional development programme from Qualitias for new and prospective partners in GP practices. This 12-month programme focuses on Leadership, Strategy and Operations and for those new to partnership, NHS England offers funding via the New to Partnership Payment Scheme.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The Cameron Fund
The Cameron Fund is the primary charitable trust that provides both education-related and hardship grants specifically for General Practitioners (GPs) and their dependants.
Financial and Educational Support Offered
• Hardship Grants: The fund provides grants to assist with essential living costs such as rent, Council Tax, and household repairs for GPs in financial distress due to ill-health, disability, bereavement, or loss of employment.
• Retraining and CPD: It offers grants or interest-free loans specifically for retraining costs or professional development when a GP is transitioning back to work or to an alternative career.
• GP Registrars: Support includes interest-free loans for major examinations like the AKT and SCA for those in the final stages of training (ST3) facing hardship.
• Professional Fees: One-off support may be available for essential professional subscriptions and indemnity insurance.
BMA Charities Trust Fund
Offers grants to working doctors in hardship for GMC retention fees and professional indemnity.
Royal Medical Benevolent Fund (RMBF)
Provides 'Back to work awards' for retraining costs and professional fees for doctors returning to practice after illness.
Society for the Assistance of Medical Families (SAMF)
Focuses on educational support, retraining/reskilling, and student allowances for the children of medical practitioners.
